Job description

This vacancy is for a GS-2210-13, Supervisory Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) GS-2210-13 located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, ALC INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIV -ISD CONFIG/PROJ MGMT BRANCH in ELIZABETH CITY, North Carolina.

You will serve as a/an Supervisory Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) GS-2210-13 and be responsible for providing service for configuration management, delivery, support and technical expertise. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Determining level of assurance of developed capabilities based on test results.. Making recommendations based on test results to ensure cybersecurity compliance.. Testing, evaluating, and verifying hardware and/or software to determine compliance with defined specifications and requirements. Establishing standard testing processes, metrics, and toolsets. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. A. Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position. B. The incumbent should obtain and maintain the Information Assurance Management Level III (IAM-III) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position. To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. NOTE: All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or occupational assessment questionnaire) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position. Specialized experience may include the following: Developing and maintaining documentation for configuration management processes, policies, and procedures, and preparing reports for senior leadership. Leading and overseeing configuration management programs for IT systems, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and federal regulations. Managing and approving changes to IT system configurations, including software, hardware, and network components, to maintain security and operational integrity. Conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analyses associated with configuration changes, and recommending mitigation strategies. Overseeing audits and reviews of configuration management processes to ensure compliance with federal standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA) and organizational requirements. NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
