1. Scope and controller

This policy applies to SecurityTalent.com and the services, communities, career tools, knowledge resources, marketplaces and memberships provided through it (the “Services”). Security Talent LLC is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Links to third-party sites and services are governed by those parties' privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details such as name, username, email address, password credentials and communication preferences.
  • Profile and professional information, including biography, work history, skills, certifications, education, location, availability and profile images.
  • Organization, recruiting, vendor, training and marketplace information.
  • Content and communications, including posts, comments, messages, applications, event activity, support requests and survey responses.
  • Verification evidence you elect or are asked to provide, such as workplace, credential, domain-control or business documentation. Enhanced identity review is not required by default and is reserved for appropriate elevated-risk cases.
  • Membership and transaction records. Payment-card data is handled by third-party payment processors; SecurityTalent does not intend to store full card numbers.
  • Social-login identifiers and profile information supplied by Facebook, Google or another provider according to your settings with that provider.

Information collected automatically

We may collect IP address, browser and device details, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, dates and times, approximate location derived from IP address, cookie identifiers and security or diagnostic logs.

3. Public profiles and content

You control many profile-visibility settings. Information designated public may be visible to visitors and search engines and may be copied or reshared by others. Community posts, organization pages, marketplace listings and other public contributions should not contain confidential or highly sensitive information. Private or member-only settings limit platform display but cannot guarantee that authorized recipients will not copy content.

4. How we use information

  • Provide, personalize, secure and maintain the Services.
  • Create profiles, enable community features, match talent with opportunities and process memberships.
  • Verify accounts, credentials or organizations and prevent spam, fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service, policy and account updates.
  • Send marketing or community communications when permitted; you may unsubscribe from promotional email.
  • Analyze performance, improve usability, develop features and understand aggregate usage.
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms and protect users, SecurityTalent and others.

Where applicable, our legal bases include performing a contract with you, your consent, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating, improving and securing a professional network.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use necessary cookies for sessions, authentication, security and preferences. We may also use analytics or integration cookies to understand usage and support features such as social login. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, but disabling necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or other functions. Where required, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies.

6. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information:

  • With the public or other members according to your settings and actions.
  • With service providers supporting hosting, email, analytics, security, customer support, payment processing, authentication and other operations, subject to appropriate contractual obligations.
  • With an employer, recruiter, training provider or other recipient when you direct us to share it or submit an application or inquiry.
  • To comply with law or legal process, investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or establish and defend legal claims.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

7. Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention varies by data type and account status. Public content may remain available after account closure when necessary to preserve community context, comply with law or honor another user's rights, but we may de-identify it where appropriate.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transmission where appropriate, access controls, logging and security monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password, protecting your sign-in methods and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information, obtain a portable copy, withdraw consent or appeal certain decisions. You may update many account and profile fields directly. Requests can be submitted through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the message link. Service and security notices may still be sent while your account remains active.

SecurityTalent serves an international community. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for cross-border transfers. Local law may provide additional rights.
